New insight into human behavior and achieving a goal, finds that the key is "Daily" goal setting - not setting the goal months ahead, or even 21 days ahead. By setting the goal for the present day "to run today" and repeating the desired result...example "to loose weight"or "to build cardiovascular strength" we gain motivation and are less likely to find an excuse to not do the goal based "action". Even "inaction" is a chosen action and behavior. The slogan ONE DAY AT A TIME is built on this principle. For someone wanting to stay sober, choosing not to drink alcohol for that one day, makes it seem easier to do than thinking about the long term task of staying sober for months or years. The same thought process and daily goal action goes for weight loss. Keep your goal in the present, daily and remind yourself its one day at a time for success!
